Introduction

 

Ron Griswell is an Environmentalist and Outdoor Influencer, who’s dedicated to encouraging minority groups to explore nature through communal fellowship as well as providing networking opportunities between HBCU students and corporations in order to promote social awareness while creating employment opportunities within the outdoor industry.

 

Ron is an established ambassador for brands such as Teva, REI, Greggory Backpacks, Ford Bronco, and All Trails and wanted to gather compelling photo/video content from his speaking engagement at the Jack and Jill Foundation’s leadership summit on the campus of North Carolina Central. The Ambitious Group specializes in digital branding and was delighted to receive the call to help supplement Ronald’s ambassador portfolio.

 

The Story of Ronald Griswell, Founder of HBCU’s Outside

 

Ron Griswell, a native of Elizabeth City, NC, and a graduate of North Carolina A&T is the Founder of HBCU's Outside, a grass-roots organization dedicated to encouraging HBCU students and alumni to get active in their communities by exploring nature as well as becoming better leaders in order to shape a healthier and more inclusive planet and corporate workplace. 

 

HBCU's Outside has partnered with brands such as Teva, NPR, BET, and Eddie Bauer in order to provide HBCU students with resources on how to properly access outdoor equipment, build community credibility around social media narratives, and involve outdoor brands/partners at the corporate level to create career pathways for aspiring African American students.

 

HBCU’s Outside aspires to expand its reach across digital media and increase its social impact across the board. Fostering relationships with institutions of higher learning as well as partnerships with prospective brands it’s a top priority for the organization in 2023.

The opportunity of providing brand partners with positive media coverage

 

Ron recruited strategic partners, Greggory Backpacks, Ford Bronco, and Path Water to donate branded materials for the  Boys and Girls Club of Durham and Orange Counties. Providing the brands with an opportunity to donate towards a charitable cause as well as giving them positive media coverage in a new market positions their companies in a favorable light by projecting credibility, expertise, and passion in the Raleigh-Durham community.

Why Ron Chose Us?

Ron reached out via submission form, after observing our digital media roll-outs from previous activations in the community. Our team has built a reputation within the content production space for our skill and professionalism when it comes to capturing high-quality content on special occasions. Ronald highlighted the type of content he wanted to have captured and also how he planned to implement that into his social media strategy.

The Result

Ron and HBCU’s Outside were able to leave an impressionable impact on the youth of Durham and Orange County. The brand partners were also pleased with the quality of our work which also put Ron in a favorable position for future programming. Ronald said, “I truly enjoyed working with the team at AMG, everything I wanted was captured flawlessly and I look forward to collaborating with you all really soon”!
